What we collect

When you submit an enquiry form we collect the name, email address, phone number, website and message you provide. Name and email are required on every enquiry form. Our paid-traffic form also requires a website so we can assess the SEO opportunity you requested.

We also collect standard analytics data through Google Analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Our enquiry forms can also record the landing page, referring page, campaign parameters and advertising click identifiers supplied in the page URL. Our server records your browser's user agent string. We use this information to understand which pages and campaigns generate enquiries.

When we deliver SEO services, authorised staff may connect customer Search Console and Google Analytics properties for aggregate performance analysis. The connector does not return Google credentials or customer contact details to an AI model.

How we use it

Enquiry details are used to respond to you and, if you become a client, to deliver the services you've engaged us for.

Analytics data is used to understand how the site performs and to improve it. We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we don't send marketing to people who have only made an enquiry unless they've opted in.

Customer search and analytics data may be reviewed through an AI analysis connection approved by an authorised SEO Guys administrator. This is used to identify evidence for human review and does not give the AI permission to edit a website or Google property.

Who else receives it

Enquiry submissions are stored using Google Firebase (Firestore), and this site is hosted on Google Firebase App Hosting. Data may be processed on Google infrastructure outside Australia.

Analytics data is processed by Google Analytics. Google's own privacy terms apply to that processing.

When an authorised administrator enables an AI analysis connection, the selected AI provider receives only the aggregate customer data returned by the read-only tools. The provider and connection are shown during consent. Google OAuth credentials and customer contact details are not included.

We do not disclose your information to another third party unless needed to deliver an approved service or required by law.

Cookies and tracking

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure how the site is used. You can block or delete these through your browser settings without losing access to any part of the site.

Campaign parameters and advertising click identifiers may be included in an enquiry record when they are present in the page URL. This site does not currently run a separate remarketing pixel or build an advertising audience from enquiry details.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are retained for as long as needed to respond and to meet our record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry record at any time.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, or ask us to delete it.

To make a request, or to raise a privacy complaint, contact us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Security

Enquiry data is stored in Google Firestore with access restricted to authorised staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

The AI data connector uses short-lived access credentials, rotating refresh credentials and Cloud KMS encryption for the separate Google read-only credential. Connector requests pass through permission checks and rate limits. Tool calls use security-audit logging.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or our services change. The review date at the top reflects the most recent version.
